We have given over 1.4 million dollars to more than 70 local nonprofits for their projects over the past ten years. Through the generosity of our donors, we have been able to foster growth and collaboration among all of our partners.

BetterFi
One of our partners doing great work on the mountain is BetterFi. This organization is a non-profit economic justice enterprise, with a mission to provide equitable financial services and coaching as a pathway out of predatory loans. BetterFi was recognized for Most Significant Innovation by the Corporation for National and Community Service in 2019. SCCF has been its partner all along the way making grants to build out BetterFi's financial literacy programs and supporting VISTA members who have built the capacity of the organization.
Our support has helped BetterFi’s clients in our community get loans at reasonable cost, build their credit scores, and improve their ability to access traditional loans and banking services. And the folks at BetterFi are just good people. As Sandy Nunley, a BetterFi client, puts it, “I have never called BetterFi without someone answering and getting back to me quickly, and I’ve not been put on hold or stuck listening to a long message. You’re stressed anyway, and to have to also go through all that it’s crazy.”

Dependable Laundry and Rugs has been changing lives for the better since it was established in 1993 by Exceptional Enterprises. The nonprofit organization that provides social services to enhance the quality of life of people with intellectual/developmental disabilities established the business to provide meaningful, useful jobs for those it serves.
Sewanee Civic Association
SCA fosters a well-informed, harmonious, and dynamic greater Sewanee community by providing a forum for community issues and social interaction, by managing the Sewanee Community Chest and the Sewanee Classifieds, and by sponsoring projects deemed by the membership to be beneficial to the community.
Coalmont Elementary School
The mission of Coalmont Elementary School is to provide a safe motivating and positive environment where all students are valued learners. The Coalmont teams joins parents and our community in equipping our students to achieve their fullest academic and personal potential in life.
Community Action
Committee
Community Action Committee, better known as CAC, is an outreach program led out of St. Mark & St. Paul, which is dedicated to combating poverty and hunger in rural appalachia. CAC focuses efforts in and around the Sewanee,TN community and works to alleviate the effects associated with poverty through the facilitation of a number of different programs including a food bank, tutoring program, and monthly community meals.
Grundy Recovery Alliance Community Endeavor (GRACE)
Grundy Recovery Alliance Community Endeavor (GRACE) is a faith-based, non-profit recovery organization focused on providing educational programs and safe, welcoming environments to build and strengthen community, and aid recovery from disruptive life events.
